Comment:

Just a bit of fun whilst Mrs.Frenchy is away in Angleterre (again) These type of themed mixes take some time to complete cos there's so much material to choose from. Got To Say, R.I.P. John Peel. Can't believe the guy's gone, never met him though bumped into him a few times at Glastonbury. Considering I didn't know him can't believe how much his death has affected me! Still Cuzco is a great place to end your days! Hope he made it to Machu Picchu before he died, as Buglady can vouch, given the altitude of the place, it's understandable that Peel suffered a fatal heart there! Thanks for the music John.

The Sonics into Helen Reddy must be a first! Great Nina & Aretha coupling. Good stuff Cliff! P.S. I presume Gobi's the one with shoulder length hair :)

Clever mix...esp like 1~6.
And ditto re: the sad news about John Peel...read about that on BBC earlier today...truly a great one who exposed many a fan to a diversity of music; Rest in Peace, John.

Good stuff hear (here) Cliff. Love the'reatha and the 1-3 start. The Undertones "Teenage Kicks" was suppose to be John Peel's favorite song.

I thought it was Gobi with long hair too! Really like the closing third of this.

Fun idea and execution.
By the way, the Nelson/Haggard/Jonestune is called simply: I Gotta Get Drunk (although, with those 3 I'm sure it was pissed!)

My sentiments exactly re. John Peel - very few people had their finger on the pulse in quite the same way as he did. And I mean the good, alternative pulse, not the Stock Aitken Waterman one. R.I.P. As for the mix, it looks really great and indeed a lot of fun - love the Style Council pick and great to see The Sonics there too! I'm yet to get really into Coxon solo, but would very much like to, and seeing as though I keep seeing him pop up on various great mixes, I should really check him out more. Nice job!

Nest of Vipers may well be correct, but I prefer your version of the title! Tres bien, mon ami.

Keep mixin'....lady's away, you must play. It's a moral imperative..., we bohemians stick together.

Just recently got into the Zutons, as they were the openers for Muse. Good stuff with TV on the Radio and the Beatles. Looks like a cohesive mix, especially with 17-19.
