What's interesting to me about all this woe & lament on Kerry's huge loss is
the virtually everyone on the left <u<still doesn't get it: they are in the minority. Even the exit polls forecasters are this morning insisting they got it right...on what planet do they reside? They clearly got it wrong.
It's almost poetic justice that the elation (I had a lib acquaintance call me
early Tuesday evening to gloat...only to be dejected as the evening wore on) of Tuesday evening turned to another loss for an out-of-touch Democratic party.

It's not Bush only...the ouster of Daschle (thank you, God!), the gaining of Senate seats and the unanimous defeat of gay-marriage initiatives sends a clear signal. Those who do not "get" that signal are blind, deaf and dumb (and Bush was supposed to be the dumb one). I feel nothing but great pride and satisfaction at both the voter turnout and the collective decision of my countrymen.

I think if the Democrats are going to get back to being a healthy viable party
they must detach themselves from the Michael Moore's, the Hollywood know-nothings and the far left who are, perceived by many in the U.S. to be anti-American.

After 9/11 terrorism has always been the # 1 issue in this election and Kerry wasted too much time criticizing Bush's war on terrorism when in fact we haven't been attacked since. Kerry was a man without a message (hint: A.B.B. is not a message).

That being said.mix on.it's great therapy!

Gene - The interesting thing to me re the woe and lament is that there are quite a few blue-staters - myself included - who really don't get the red-staters - and I think you've pointed that out in your feedback. But get them or not - their voice was certainly heard loud and clear on Tuesday. And you are correct - if the Democrats really want to be players in this thing in 2008, they'd better wake up and smell the coffee. PA Governer Ed Rendell was on one of the morning shows echoing these very sentiments.Re the message (or lack thereof) that Kerry projected - you are correct: the Bush message was crystal clear; you had to really work to get to what Kerry was talking about. My hope is that the Kerry supporters (I hesitate to use the word "liberal" - b/c though not liberal (I stand firmly in the middle of the road - traffic whizzing dangerously close to me on either side), I supported Kerry) will get over this and move on. Whether you like it or not, George Bush is our President and we should support him - not w/o questionning him, mind you - and should get/stay involved and work to keep our country strong. Me - I'm looking forward to 2008! There are many great possible candidates - on both sides - Guiliani, Rendell, Pataki, another run by McCain maybe?, Jeb, Schumer - that should be really interesting...
But enough about this nonsense - on to the important stuff - the mixing!

great looking mix and "yikes" to all the other stuff. coming from the WC to a republican state has been a scary thing these past few yrs. why the people i hear voted the way they did had nothing to do with subtance, sounded like rhetoric got to them, kind of like that sunday sermon they all talk about and don't listen to more than anything else. a friend calls them "Sheeple"....

Terrific Mix, Joe. The music soothes us all. As a libertarian I feel the Democrat Party is in shambles, as g.a.b. mentions. The interesting thing to me is the the Republicans had/have the Presidency, House and Senate-and what have they accomplished? I think mckbrd hits it on the head-moral values was the main issue and not terrorism. People voted like the y were in church on Sunday. The problem with that is to many people act one way on Sunday and differently the rest of the week. History has shown that trying to impose moral values on people is futile. The cool thing about the USA is that once the election is over-life goes on-no bombs or bullets. Actions speak louder than words and time will time who was right or wrong. To this day I think Massechusetts was right and McGovern was a better choice than Nixon. And now back to the music!

When it's the closest race since Wilson, when does it become a huge victory? (Even after they win, the rhetoric doesn't stop) The country is almost evenly divided and for one day probability came to it's nadir. (the last minute coin flippers all got tails)
Wouldn't it be hilarious if one day the creator finally revealed itself to the masses as a fat black lesbian buddah? Wow, the gnashing of teeth in Alabama would be deafening...
sorry, it is after all, (as our northern friends woulds say) aboot the mix...
Thanks for the reminder, it's time to dig back through my vinyl for some Hoodoo Gurus. I'm suddenly in the mood to hear Leilani...

Good lookin' mix...this side of the pond is disappointed & shocked...I think Bush must be the most hated President you ever had! And I'm afraid to say he doesn't win our respect..though, how anyone thought Kerry posed any threat/ competition is beyond me. I think his hairstyle let him down.

Join the club--can't believe that many people were convinced Bush would be better for the country. I'd tell all of them where they can shove their "moral values." I don't even think they understand what moral values are, because if they did, they would never have voted for Bush, who obviously lacks them. Dig the mix--it's got a lot of great picks, especially the Blood, Sweat & Tears.

to A.D. 69:
WASHINGTON (AP) -
After losing back-to-back presidential elections, Democratic leaders are trying to figure out how to make the
party more relevant to mainstream Americans and keep it from slipping into perpetual minority-party status.

New York Post -Saturday, November 6, 2004
Former President Bill Clinton, in his first comments on President Bush's re-election, yesterday
urged Democrats not to "whine" about the outcome, but to find a "clear national message".
"If we let people believe that our party doesn't believe in faith and family, doesn't believe in work and freedom, that's our fault," he said.
The Republicans had a clear message, a good messenger, great organization and great strategy,
" said Clinton.
Amen ! (that man has a clue)

Very nice mix - am very late here with the comments, but don't worry, I am just as disappointed and shocked at the election results as I am impressed by this mix here. Especially like the Devo and Stereolab - and Morrissey into Marr, you sneaky person, you. :) Ah well, roll on 2008. It can only get better, I guess.
