The Downtime sets brought together a bunch of my favorites: tracks from the K&D Sessions, a PFM treasure track from the first Logical Progression collection, Omni Trio's atmospheric Drum'n'Bass ... also some recommendations picked up at thedownbeat.org, dedicated to the best of the best from the downtempo tip.

Credit where it's due: the central images in all the covers for the Downtime sets come from various websites devoted to fractals. For anyone interested, I recommend starting at www.fractalus.com to see what's goin on. While many fractalists post their images with limitations on use, most are posted without restriction on reproduction for personal use.
If anyone's interested in fractals, check out Fractint, a freeware fractal generator that creates incredible images. You can mess around with the results in any photo editing software and get even cooler effects. And since you made them, they're free as free can be.

Right you are ... Fractint is one of the programs most often mentioned on the sites I've visited. Release the artist in you! (But watch out -- I've heard it's a highly addictive activity....)
