Comment:

Attended a 40th Birthday party for an old friend [er, I mean, a friend I've known a long time, not one who is necessarily old, because I'm getting pretty close myself so... oh, never mind]. Anyway, the invitation said no gifts, which to me always translates into "throw together a quick mix that doesn't necessarily reflect a ton of creativity because it's Saturday afternoon and almost time to go" but this came out relatively ok. Had to toss in a few ringers given my friend's mainstream taste (Roxy, Squeeze, R.E.M., Elvis, Steely Dan), but that helped anchor the thing I suppose.

Looks great Marc. Unfortunately most commercial radio stations that cater to the over 35 set are playing stuff like Journey and INXS, and not the cool music seen above. Really like your selections from Wilco, Pernice Brothers and TFC. Great cover too, though your friend hasn't aged well ;)

nice looking mix! if we had no concept of time, all these crazy notions of age etc would not matter. and honestly, it doesn't have to!

Funny how mixes like these don't make me feel old-- it's the Britney/Christina/JLo/NSYNC mixes that seem to do that to me!

Ha - what Buglady said. And you're using a Steely Dan song that I don't hate!
