American Years (Johnny Cash)
Comment:
Rick Rubin produced Johnny Cash on the American label. A friend asked if I had any of that "new" Johnny Cash doing the "cover" songs. So I put this mix together from the four American albums and the 5 CD box set. Could be a lot more volumes. A tiny slice of a brilliant career and a nice holiday gift mix. Photo is Johnny greeting the Nashville recording industry.Feedback:
Yes, I'm willing to bet there will be a lot more volumes in this series-as he well deserves!
NICE! - love that opening number; & #-23 too.
Rather than doing this, you should just force your friend--violently, if necessary--to buy all the appropriate albums, because to not own them is anti-american and generally suspicious. But then again, since Johnny ain't making money of this shit anymore, copy away...
nice George. btw, new Mojo Mag has a story about JCash and a covers CD that's pretty interesting. there's so much Cash, you can't go wrong starting just about anywhere.....
This looks like a cool overview of his last years.
Nice.
This isn't my favorite Cash era but you chose a lot of the best songs from it. I missed "We'll Meet Again" though :)
superb. Can't get enough of the great man. Sadly missed.
You don't get better than Johnny. I'd listen to him sing beer commercial jingles.
What a wonderful tribute to a brilliant artist.
And an appropriate picture to boot!
