Comment:
Well, it seems that Christmas mixes aren't that popular among the mixing elite, so I'm falling back on what I seem to have been doing best of late: Period Pieces. This mix happens to focus on my favorite year (and thus the word 'special' in the title). Hope at least a few of you enjoy my efforts. -RetroFeedback:
great idea, and it looks spectacular.
Xmas comes but once a year, but a 1967 only comes around once.
Great year. A lot of this stuff I had on 45s... Soul Survivors, Esquires, Blues Magoos, Johnny C, Jackie Wilson, Rascals, actually still got those boxes upstairs.
FANTASTIC. When we trade again, I want one.
Let me take that back... let's trade for this someday.
I was 3! However, you have done a great 'period piece' (your words) here. Love the Blue Magoos.
Great stuff, can't get enough of the 60's. You picked some awesome classics...especially the Buckinghams, Rascals and the Byrds. Always dug the Harper's Bizzare version of that song too. Good work.
Ah, the music of my childhood... ok, fine, I was only 1, but still. My own 1967 mix would lean far more heavily on the psychedelic masterpieces of the era (Sgt. Pepper, Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Forever Changes, Odessey & Oracle, Ogden's Nut, etc.) and VU & Nico; but you nail the pop/r&b side of the charts quite nicely.
This is a pretty damn good mix. Does anyone else think that Smiley Smile is avastly underrated album from this wonderous year?
Fantastic.
We are on the same page. I have some 60's/70's mixes that need to get out. This era was a golden era for me.
loving it, see my 1964 for a similar thread
