Comment:

Aural report from last month's WFMU record fair. As always, a wonderful (and expensive) time was had by all. Everything scratchy vinyl 'ceptin' Davie Allan and Norton's fantastic Untamed Youth comp. Apologies to unincluded albums from Tangerine Dream, Nina Simone, another Brother Ray, Astrud Gilberto, corny Secret Agent Themes and comp Soul Soldiers. Best of show: Ruts, Human Switchboard is a lost classic, essential Eddie & the Hotrods and Spanky, lost month's MOJO Buried Treasure and worth seeking out. Man, that's my idea of fun. Alas, the WFMU fair is cutting back from annual to semi-, but at least it will still be with us. Meet you there next year gang?

Damn! Looks like you scored some great stuff. Wish I was there. I've been digging the Spanky a lot lately (yes I am talking about the band).

Looks like an envious haul once again. Especially since local record shows of this caliber have been cut back to almost never. The Ruts certainly deserve higher recognition & that Big Daddy LP is still a larf & a half. I'm surprised you didn't follow the Beat tune with Eddie & the Hot Rods' excellent cover of The Kids Are Alright. I keep telling myself I'll make it my own personal trip to Mecca one day. Hopefully before all the best stuff is in the record loving vaults.

You got a lot of gems at the fair. The bi-annual record fair that hits my town usually sucks balls.
Anyway, this mix looks cool. That David Allen and the Arrows are an awesome band.
