Comment:

A mix of bass-heavy tunes for my daughter who is learning the bass. (If she can learn a tenth of this half decently she'll be a damned fine player!) Volume one because there are lots of bands/bassists I haven't gotten to yet (Led Zep, Beatles, Bob Marley....no Brazilian tunes....). (The bassist is in parenthesis, duh..) There is another mix on AOTM with this title, but it isn't bass oriented and doesn't have the Shriekback song on it, so I have no problem reusing the title as it is one of my favorite songs. Working on the cover pix. Thanks for the suggestions I got via the blog (when will it be back?) & the community forum (any other suggestions are welcome, although my heavy metal collection is pretty limited). Didn't include much jazz because most of what I know & like tends to use acoustic bass rather than electric.

A great idea, and a tremendous mix. I don't know the first track, but I absolutely love the rest of the songs!

Nice mix! When I see "bass" in the title I always assume it's going to be "cars that go boom" stuff. not that there's anything wrong with that. but this looks like a great gift for someone learning bass.
