Elliott Smith was a genious singer/songwriter whom I have long admired. After his suicide, the songs have seemed to open up new meanings, evoking feelings in me that they never had before. I miss the man and all his glory, which is only briefly touched upon here. There are many other songs on other mixes. These are just some that I picked out as a sort of ''tribute'' to a man who's music I consider a friend.
Beginning with Fond Farewell... "...this is not my life, it's just a fond farewell to a friend, it's not what I'm like, it's just a fond farewell to a friend who couldn't get things right..."
Thanks to Elliott for giving us so much through the music. We'll miss him.
