Nice; sometines I know more tunes than on other mixes...sometimes I don't.
superb once more, CB. Jazz into reggae. sublime
yeah, simmer down
Very, very good, Curtis. Agree w/Mr. McDonald -- jazz into reggae is pretty damn cool! And the Golden Gate Quartet is my all-time fave gospel group. Nice!
I just bought a Golden Gate Quartet CD today (but it doesn't have the track above, alas)!!! Love 'em. Needless to say, I love the first half of the mix (love the Ellington into an Ellington tune), but as I'm not a reggae buff (not yet, at any rate), I can't quite sing the praises of the latter half. I'm sure it's cool though.
Good stuff and I love the Curtis Mayfield track!
Beautiful! Sly & Robbie, a/k/a the Rhythm Killa's, are always in good taste! Dancing 'round to this one, eh?
Great Desmond, Bob, Sly & Robbie, Archie Shepp, and Curtis (Mayfield, that is) tracks. Very cool.
Looks fantastic, as always. The Sly & Robbie - end stretch is excellent.
Oh man - this swings, this rocks, this slides, and soars! What a journey!
Lots of great picks.
moving from jazz into reggae is always great - and this is a lovely journey. (and I know the artists on one of your mixes which is always a bonus).
Terrifique!
Wonderful.
ditto gobi's comments - excellent mix, as usual...
