Over the course of his decades in music, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds has gotten as much pleasure, and richly deserved fame, for unearthing new talent as he has for spotlighting his own dazzling gifts. For more than 20 years, he’s written songs and created sounds for the likes of everyone from grown-up child prodigy Tevin Campbell (the chart-topping heart-to-heart “Can We Talk”), to future R&B superstar Usher (a sultry “Bedtime” story), and the brothers known as 3T, who sing the Babyface creation “Why” with none other than their uncle, the late, great Michael Jackson.
