Comment:
I guess this was a great year for people in love with the 80's - at least musically. I'm kinda so-so on the whole scene - there are some catchy tid-bits here and there but I just can't get into all of it. The highlights for me were more strong showings by Local H, Ash, Wilco & Vanderslice - and the emergence of Muse's album 'Absolution' and the new sound of Phantom Planet (which at first I didn't care for). I don't listen to the radio much, but I've found plenty of new bands (or new to me) to dig this year such as The Damnwells, Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Keane, Rilo Kiley & The Dears. So, it's been a pretty sucessful year. I want to send a big shout out to AOTM for getting me hooked on blogging and getting to know some AOTMers through it - who I've promised copies of this mix to. And I would love to say thanks to Hemizen and French Connection for their interest and comments on my last few mixes - you guys rule! Take care & Enjoy!Feedback:
I was looking through the playlist & calculating what I'd say & then I get a name check merci beaucoup & now time to trade methinks! Get in touch if you're up for it. Re the mix you've got me intrigued with the Damnwells, Local H et Vanderslice the rest is as always top notch.
Awesome Mix..Looking forward to hearing this!!! Thanks to you for creating mixes with such great music.
2004 was a great year for music (dodgy in other ways). I like the look of this (went to see Muse a couple of weeks ago at Earls Court - have bought 'absolution' on the strength of the night). Track 1 looks like one hell of an 'opener'.
Lotta' tracks I know, and a lot I don't...a 50/50 split almost. Good go!
The opening trio segue superbly & the Music album was probably my fave of 2004. 6-11 is right up my street; as is 18 _ 21. Just knew for some reason that I'd love Vanderslice. Great mix Charles, so pleased it's p
