A serious snakecharmer in search of a cobra.[Originally made for Paul. Tweaked, in places, since.]
Feedback:
Quite eclectic, to say the least. What could have possibly been your modus operandi for compiling this? I'm interested in checking out many of these songs, but I can already clap for your inclusion of Tori Amos, Morrissey, Buckley obviously (who is incapable of breaking down to that rendition?), and the great lost Polaris. "Summerbaby" is pure nostalgic confection
Interesting asortment of artist, its got me wondering how it sounds!
Mike:
Modus operandi? The man with whom I could -- I might -- fall out of loneliness has the most wondrous, varied musical exposure. Hence, I sought to make this interesting for him. It's all tongue-in-cheek, see? ;) Bearing that in mind, I consciously avoided compiling as gauche or sleazy a mix as I was able. Moreover, the segue between each track is as it is because a) I am comfortable with either the melodies entire or the last/beginning chord combinations of neighbouring tracks and b) there is, in my mind, a narrative progression.
(P.S. I happened upon a comment of yours in another thread, so you must know what I've said re: Buckley & that song. Just doin' me job, sir.)
hemizen & Mike: If you'd like a copy of the mix or want only the songs you don't already have, I'm happy to send anything your way: you need only say the word.

This is fantastic - you've introduced me to Hawksley Workman, Robbie Robertson, Emiliana Torrini, and 16 Horsepower - and can't go wrong with the Leonard Cohen, Crowded House and Over the Rhine tracks. Great mix.
