i listened to this in late august and early september of 2004. some of the songs are perennial favorites; others reflect my musical taste during the summer, when i drove around a lot and consequently listened to a ton of top40.Feedback:
I love a music fan who can combine indie sensibility with an enjoyment of the mainstream that most "cool" music listeners disregard as crap. And while I personally don't care for the music of Hilary Duff, I'm proud to see a song of hers alongside one by The Raincoats. Ditto rap alongside Elliot Smith. Top 40 can be pretty good, I must admit...and otherwise, some fine lesser-known songs here, esp. Belle & Sebastian (though I guess it WAS a single...), Mountain Goats, and Minutemen. Unique!
i like good stuff and crap. that's my favorite cat power song ever.
