Comment:

If you look at the mix, you'll be able to tell straight away, that yeah, it isn't really country. But a hate the term "Americana". It's really all just music with a similar feel!

A quick rundown of why I like these tracks:
1) Check those harmonies. melancholy expressed in a joyous way.
2) The only track I've got second thoughts about, but check out that chiming guitar at the start.
3) Calexico sounds like the desert, bone dry.
4) It's the (non)production, the delivery and the rush of guitar at the end. I think it's known as cowpunk.
5) I think enough has already ben said about Gram Parsons, let's just remember the contribution of Chris Hillman.
6) Patsy Cline + Giant Sand = Neko Case
7) 'nuff said
8) Great lyrics, that just sound so domestic.
9) Sesame Street
10) The joke song
11) At least one of the Monkee's were tallented. Really they all were.
12) 'nuff said. Is this country?
13) It's all in the delivery my friends.
14) I love the coda where the french horn takes off as a solo.
15) Here it's where the gospel choir join in. So over produced I love it to bits.
16) A sadly neglected band.
17) A brilliant album. A hypnotic instrumental that just goes in circles.
18) The way it builds
19) One of my all-time favourite albums. So joyous, so depressing. The sound of someone loosing it?
20) Gillian Welch has become a revelation to me.
