just what I said but wasn't There's a riot goin' on by Sly & family stone released that year too ?
Yes, Sly & the Family Stones LP "There's a Riot Goin' On" hit #1 in late '71. Their "Family Affair" from that album also hit #1 and was on my final list of songs to select from for these mixes, but didn't make the final cut. I have used a few of their songs in past mixes though including my 1970 mix.
