Comment:
Another quickie. I did some pretty serious editing of two songs (eliminating the tedious intros to both the Squarepusher and Fiery Furnaces tracks, as well as the short but unnecessary intro to the Fall track) and pruned the ending from the Flaming Lips song in order to increase available space and continuity. That West Indian Girl song is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine these days, but DAMN what a guilty pleasure. Title from Pete Shelley & Co. [Note: This wound up being not-so-quick, since, as per usual these days, I revised this within 24 hours of posting it. The second half is better, though, making it more of a match for the first half. And believe it or not, that Sabbath song required a bit of trimming, as well, in order for me to keep up the flow of the mix.]Feedback:
Nice one. Quite a few of my favourite artists here.
This looks great.
This looks great. Love the minuteme through Husker Du section especially, which reminds me of my college days (love that Swell Maps tune). Good work!
Very cool Rob. Love the opening stretch through Six Organs especially.
I love those quickies. This one is wonderful.
terrific, esp the 1-5 operner!
Very nice, Rob. The 1 to 10 stretch is amazing.
Sometimes you just gotta get out the weed whacker to make em fit... But this looks really good!
wow haven't thought 'bout that Buzzcocks line/song in years but I realise it's a great one, nice otherwis. e-mail you soon
Right up my tree.Superb.
I love this one, Rob. Agreed with pretty much everybody on that opening stretch. Amazing.
nice........
This quickie's orgasmic!
West Indian Girl I've yet to hear...otherwise I know most...great looking mix!
This is super. I so much like the Brian Eno, Fall, MC5, Iggy Pop, Flaming Lips and Squarepusher picks.
Really lovely, Rob - this is very much up my street! I always love the Fiery Furnaces, and that 14 -> 20 stretch looks just awesome. Similarly, I'm yet to experience West Indian Girl - will have to, though, if it's that much of a guilty pleasure!
Great stuff. Pretty top-notch for a quickie.
Looks superb, Rob. Classic closer (well, and opener I suppose too :) )
[What ur thinking man(title), this album is lovely, so there IS love anymore.
Looking good, especially:: Minutemen, Buzzcocks, Iggy Pop, Dylan and West indian Girl. Have to look ur other stuff.]

Nice variety! I'm impressed by the quality of your mixes. Is that Libertines song a cover of Cat Stevens' "Don't Be Shy"?
Damn, a "quickie" with serious editing!! This looks outstanding!
cool and eclectic.
Exceptional mix Robby. You trimmed a Black Sabbath song?! You're going to pay for that dearly one day.
Quick is slick, but with revision you get more precision.
Nightclubbing then Bo Diddley, good move . . . I believe!

I knew exactly how this one should end from the title. Reminds me of the night twenty something years ago when I had to hold my radio just right to pick up the college station playing that Buzzcocks tune `cause I was dying to find out who it was. Didn't catch this one prior to revisionism, but damn, you got so many of my favorites here. Don't know West Indian Girl, but it's gotta be fine to wind up in this company.
No such thing as a guilty pleasure!!! This all looks great except that Flaming Lips song, which i hate. And for some reason I can't get into Fiery Furnaces... too over-the-top for me. But I'm sure you make it all work, as usual :-)
