Comment:
a long time ago, back in that decade the 90's before he became the flaming douchebag he is today, Ryan Adams was the frontman and guitarist of a great little band called Whiskeytown. they combined all the things i love about The Replacements, Gram Parsons, Uncle Tupelo, and early REM into a nice little package with some punk rock attitude and a little bit of Morrissey's self mocking wit. Whiskeytown were the first alt-country/ no depression/ whatever you wanna call it band i was ever into and i was sad when they broke up. i would have never guessed Ryan Adams would go on to become such a joke. anyway this is a mix of the best of his Whiskeytown days. it starts off with a cover of Black Flag's punk classic "Nervous Breakdown" and ends with a cover of Gram Parson's ballad "A Song For You". both of these songs pretty much sum up what the band was all about and the sound they created.Feedback:
Lovely; I've always preferred Whiskeytown to Adams solo. Great picks.
Great one.
Nice selections. I would have included "Matrimony" but it would be hard to drop any of these picks.
Very nice picks from a wonderful band.
Nice picks...I like their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," too.
Superb.
