79:36 - 6/05 - Remastered via Roxio Media editorContinued utterances in ether-jazz (jazz-ish constructs viewed from an ambient
perspective with tracks getting progressively denser). One of two made several weeks
ago during a fairly heavy tri-state snow fall. The
Phil Napoleon
track, ripped from forty-six year old vinyl, was included as a nod to
my Dad, ever the Jazz/Dixieland/Big Band fan.
[* Thanks to
Curtis Burns for the Triosk/Jelenik track]
Feedback:
I'd love to hear the Beck version of Goodbye Porkpie Hat -- it's a fav. of mine. And the last track also looks worth a listen. I'm listening to Gararek right now, as a matter of fact (on a Miroslav Vitous cd I want to use for a future mix) -- nice to see his inclusion here too. In short, very nice mix.
Excellent as always, Gene, including the cool cover. Ditto lostinthemix on Pork Pie Hat.
superb. I'd love to hearthis sometime.
Fabulous!
great looking mix!!!
Kirk Lightsey...nice. Excellent through and through GAB. I love this series.
This looks just delicious, as always. Very cool cover too.
Labor in the labs proves beneficial. To all....
Thanks for the comments ay'one. CB I won that Lightsey album (vinyl) via a W-BGO call-in contest some 17-18 years ago; I'd forgotten about it until I peeked through the stacks...hunting for the right tracks.
Great Miles and Monk picks. IFm not too familiar with the rest.
Excellent cover & a great lookin' mix!
Great addition to the series, Gene. Weaves all over the place but each one's a beauty. Love that cover, too!
Some wonderful stuff here. I like the Jan Garbarek, Monk and Miles picks especially.
