Comment:
ahhh. how many times can you break up with a person? apparently not enough. i think the only thing you can do when you're really in love with someone is let things wear away at it...there is no breaking. so this is yet another cd about another one of those stages. i'll walk you through, and i apologize if my personal interpretation of a song is different from your personal interpretation of a song. but it's my party, and i'll cry if i want to. the mix begins with the protagonist happy but tentative in the hope that this time things are good and may work out, which would be heaven(1,2). but things rather quickly devolve as life in the forms of drugs, alcohol, and cold-hearted cheating reminds her that uh...this dude sucks (3,4,5). finally this all erodes her, especially the fact that this time when he cheated on her, the girl he did it with was "different" (6), and even though she's given up.she still loves him cause, well, she has to, hence her boughts of jealously and anger (7). but, she has backed off in terms of relationships, and when she talks to him, she hates hearing about all his new worthless friends and stupid exploits, wishes she herself wasn't friends with him, hates how he pretends his problems don't exist (8,9). but despite all of this, she still misses him, and the safety of their relationship, even though she knows he sucks (10). so she sees him, tries to get him to see it her way (though not with any REAL conviction this time), and he just brushes her aside and doesn't seem destroyed by this like she is, which is confusing (11). so she gives up and says she'll be friends if he's nice (12) cause she has some really good reasons not to trust him (13), and she reminds him that he's not going to find love where he's looking for it (14). but he insists on being her friend, even though he hits on her, tries to sleep with her, but he won't be with her, which drives her insane, and she demands a relationship again, tells him she wants to join his craziness (15). at this point he rather obnoxiously interjects and tells her that he still hits on her cause she's "hot," and tells her all about how truly wonderful she is and means every word of it and it's beautiful (16), but it pisses her off. who the hell is he to say this? she reminds him that he can never have things back, wants to know if he's truly aware of what he's done (17). and then the last song (18) is sort of teasing on her part...they should both give up, their relationship is fucked no matter what level, so they should just have fun. i know...it's weird. but it perfectly fits my situation. and no...the ending isn't them getting back together. somehow they learn to be friends. and still hate each other and love each other. the end. oh...i had iron and wine's "naked as the come" as a hidden track because.well, at least in my case, though this guy is a butt nugget, and i've given up all hopes of a feasible relationship.the sentiment of two people growing old together was nice. this is a guy that i'll never get married to, but in the end i'll always be good friends with, i think. does this make sense?Feedback:

awesome mix. hooray for melancholy.
If you keep breaking up/getting back together there is a serious communication problem-get help. On the other hand the tension leads to great mixes!
wow....yikes. this mix is hitting particularly close to home for me, though not exactly...suffice it to say, I understand this on a certain level because I'm going through something similiar now. the mix and the notes about it are excellent, though. really. very nice job. and kudos to you for being so personal in your explanations! <3.
