how to distill a band with a hundred releases down to one disc? yep - this oughta do it.

This is missing some of my very favorites ("Peep-Hole", "Weed King", "Indian Fables", "Scissors" and "Big Boring Wedding" spring to mind) and includes one of my least-favorite tracks (as we discussed, "I am a Tree"), but overall is a cool mix. Did you ever see the mix of theirs that I posted in '01 ("The history book has lost its binding.")?

I'm always getting new insights into this guy the more of his stuff I hear or see on mixes. Everyone seems to have a different perspective. Sure records a lot though.

George seems to have encapsulated, succinctly, my own thoughts on Mr. Pollard & freres. As good a stab as anyone's lo-fi.

Looks like you've compiled some of their best stuff laddy. It's too early in the morning to think about what songs were unjustifyably ommitted. Love the amazing cover too

This looks pretty nice... I did a GBV mix a few weeks back, which is a bit different then this one. Check it out:

I can't get enough GBV. They're frustrating at times, but undeniably great. Great mix and an inspired cover.

Wow! As a huge GBV fan, I love to scope out anyone's "best of" GBV mix. I've probably made over a dozen GBV mixes over the years. Their catalogue is so expansive that even the biggest fans can discover (or re-discover) new songs and re-think their previous attempt at making a "best of". Well done. Over The Neptune / Mesh Gear Fox is the perfect opener for any mix, all GBV or not.

P.S. Awesome cover!
