Comment:

Not a creative theme (I've seen a few of these done before), but perhaps a bit more sweeping than prior examples. A bit of a labor of love, it took a few runs through stacks of cd's to come up with these, and even ended up having to cull out quite a few. To help with the culling process, I ruled out songs which did not explicit reference the day in the lyrics (hence the exclusion of New Order's "Blue Monday," Yo La Tengo's "Saturday," Beulah's "Sunday Under Glass," etc.). Then organized it by day, resulting in a Weekday Disc and a Weekend Disc, while trying to mix things up stylistically during each day. The musicians among you out there need to devote yourself to writing some more songs about Wednesday and Thursday, but that goes without saying.

Very cute! Nice collection.

How would "Wednesday I'm in Love" sound? Or "Thursday Night's All Right For Fights"?

Well, although I'm on the record as generally being opposed to "dorky" theme mixes (your words), when they're this well-done, I'll tip my hat. :-)

Dude! Where's Skynyrd's
"Tuesday's Gone"? With the exception of that oversight, this looks week-idly good -- and definitely not a waste...of...time. Like the Dali-esque cover too.

A nice execution of the most reliable of theme-disc stand bys. One that also looks like it would play well.
