Comment:
Two-tape mix built for work. I got tired of hearing the same damn songs on the radio all the time, & I'm tired of people telling me I listen to "strange things" when I play my iPod. Therefore I resolved to start building a tape a week to bring in to work, thus giving some form of variety. This is the first one, built as the 60s through the 90s (one side, one decade). Just because I go beyond the bounds of mainstream music doesn't mean I don't have pop sensibilities, & this was to show that. The "side 1" listing is all of tape 1; the side breaks are fairly easy to see. The full title of the mix is "In a society in which it is a mortal offense to be different from your neighbors your only escape is to never let them find out." --Maureen Johnson Long, To Sail Beyond The Sunset
