Comment:

This infatuation with 'Bass' I'm on of late has got to stop (at least for a while) I'm beginning to feel I've got a case of OCD! Thanks to Valis for a great cover art & reminding me what a kickin' bass line that XTC song has. Big thanks also to JoeGillis1 who's mixes area constant source of inspiration to me.

lots of good stuff! I don't want to spoil a good bass mix, but the white stripes and local h don't have bass players...?

Ah but the White Stripes don't have computer generated stuff either so the guitar is bass my friends. As for the Local H track cheeck it out & tell me that's not grinding bass you're hearing!

Not wishing to be pedantic or for that matter enter into a 'Lostinthe mix v Rob Conroy type argument but upon further research, Sport & Peter are wrong re Local H too, as Scott Lucas sings & plays both guitar & bass. What the fuck though both are cracking songs & to these ears (and the mixes I make are primarily pour moi)they're both full -on bass orientated!

Hell yeah! Weakerthans & The H! (In concert they make more noise than your standard 3 piece band anyways - so bass or not it's awesome!)

Excellent stuff! No need to de-bass this mix. Have you heard the unreleased White Stipes CD that has one of the guys from Redd Kross adding in his own bass parts?

Nice series idea. Lots of good stuff here, particularly a fan of the Zutons, XTC, and Stripes picks. Actually got the XTC album that contains that song last week.

That PiL song and that XTC song do indeed have great basslines.
