Comment:

This one goes out to the DJ Usurp I love. Tracks 2 through 7 on side A form a sort of tribute-to-R.E.M. EP. At least one of the members performs on each track, except for the Pavement song, which is included because it's all about R.E.M. Otherwise, this mix originally was supposed to have one side of punky music and one side of funky music. Didn't work out. Take it, Conor: "Happy birthday, darling. We love you very very very very very very very much."

One of your best. This could almost be Funk Rock the House -- whenever you do something sorta crazy, off-the-wall, I end up loving it more than I would expect. This tape also suggests you've tapped into that sweet Olathe herb*. And the Elastica-Wire transition is classic Palindrome.

*--I have no idea if Olathe has "herb," let alone any that would be qualified as "sweet."
