Comment:

There's no pretense to having chosen historically important tracks here -- it's just tunes I like from the given period. And strictly speaking, it's not even all hard bop or modal, but there you go. I did try to recreate the look of a Blue Note jacket from that period with the art, though. (That Cannonball Adderley tune is identified as "Alison's Uncle" on older releases; recently it seems the archivists have changed their minds, so I've gone with the "Bangoon" title here.)  [album art full size]

I know nothing about this music. And, honestly, have no plans to. But I can recognise quality work when I see it. Props.

You really nailed the BlueNote look. Top notch artwork so good at first I thought you just posted an actual BlueNote cover for your mix. And thumbs up on the Ornette and Coltrane. Actually, thumbs up on the whole damn thing.

Very nice. My favorite jazz period. Blue Note is indeed well-represented here.

St. Thomas is my favourite jazz tune of all time -- it's what converted me to jazz, so any mix with that tune on it is A-1 in my books. I don't think I know the Adderly, but I know all the rest, and there isn't a clunker in the lot. And, yes, your cover would do Reid Miles proud (although he wasn't doing Blue Note's more sexy 60s/70s stuff, of which this reminds me).
