Comment:
Steve Lacy died last year and the world lost one of the great jazz musicians of the 20th century. I wasn't in a position to make this mix then (all my records and cds were in boxes) but now it is possible, and it has been done. All tracks listed as Lacy - ... are duets with the other person. The thing listed as Muhal Richard Abrams is from the 4 cd Interpretations of Monk set that DIW put out. The same band plays with 4 different pianists, Abrams, Anthony Davis, Barry Harris and Mal Waldron. Look for the follow-up, Lacy plays Lacy.Feedback:
Good stuff Nick. I have some of your other Steve Lacy stuff-and it's great!
interesting
Very, very nice.
