Comment:

My most recent mixed-genre mix (I'll submit THE most recent, which was all "indie-rock", soon) and one of the best that I've ever made. I put this together for the most perfect girl on the planet who is also an encyclopedia of pop music history; needless to say, she's completely out of my league (even though she proclaimed the mix to be "fantastic") and I'm more than fine with that. With the above in mind, I almost put it into the "romantic" category, but the general "glow" of the mix is more romantic than any actual intended "messages" in any of the songs. I also sent this to another girl (who is a regular here, I gather) to get her opinion and to let her enjoy it, as well. She says that every song in this mix reminds her of summer "for some reason", which really resonates with me. I'd never thought about it before, but when it comes down to it, the thrill of a crush for me is akin to riding in a car at around 4 p.m. on a summer day with the sun shining through the dirty windshield; the windows are open and there are green leaves everywhere. I'm glad that's what this mix conjures up. :-) The title is from the Stone Roses tune.

such a lovely mix! i still stick to my "summer" description...and it's all the more swell that you found my impression to have some degree of accuracy. hehe. call me a "regular" if you must, but believe me when i say there is nothing regular about me. haha. eeep, now i'm just yammering....

pssst: so glad to see you finally joined! :)

Very good mix. A good variety of sounds that would seem to flow well enough together. The Bee Gees? Well, variety is the spice of life and all that, I guess.

Great mix. I love the idea of The Dark End of the Street running into The Band.
