Comment:
A mix for the 5 day old Astrid Isabelle Lally ..... once she grows to appreciate trashy rock (like her old man). Thanks for Dead Man for reminding me how great that Stoics tracks is, and thanks to Gerry for an odd or end. And thanks to all of you for your well wishes on my last mix - I really appreciate the sweet comments.Feedback:
Did I ever tell you I interviewed one of the Shaggs? Cool mix.
Geez, man, go to sleep. Even I probably took a week or so off from mixing when I had newborns in the house. But I guess as long as you're not making Wiggles and Dragon Tales mixes for her yet, you're ok...
Gotta start em young Sean & what an introduction this is!
what songs does she likes most ? ;)
Not what I expected from the title. I was expecting the Pipkins. This is much better!
Sean, this is great. It's never too soon to turn 'em on to Paul & Paula!
Sorry - I was up most of the night. I'm back to work this morning (teaching a Saturday morning class). To answer P's question - I don't know yet. However, the first concert she "attended" was Patti Smith last summer (while in utero). First song ever played for her was the lead-off Opal track from my last mix. First song I ever sang to her was "Surfin' Bird". But would you expect anything else?
Very cool mix.
Great idea for a mix--I'll be making one of these soon. When Astrid gets a little older you can introduce her to the Shaggs' "Philosophy of the World" with her. But make sure she's ready to comprehend such philosophical depth or it'll blow her mind! By the way, have you decided on a middle name yet?
Sorry, I just noticed Astrid's middle name in your comments. excellent choice.
super stuff, Sean! You're most welcome for the "odd or end!"
This is very good indeed. There used to be a Scottish band called The Stoics. Is this the same band?
Looks like she'll be growing up all right, Sean. First thing I sang to Nate was a medley of Ramones' tunes. I've been working on a riff-a-rama mix for him now to accompany his air guitar antics.
Great fun Sean!
Nice one Sean, and much joy with the little one. This one is being added to the Exhibition "Cater or Indoctrinate" with other proud parents and SOs.
Congratulations Sean. On both the child with the beautiful name and the mix.
congrats. early indoctrination is good indoctrination!
Ha. Lovely. Now if you only get to work on that McCartney-heavy BEATLES mix, you'll really be pushing her in the right direction. ;-)
I don'[t know a lot here, but Ilike the stuff I heard.
oooooh. fantastic.
This looks really good (except for Hey Paula).
it's da breeze!!!!!!!!
Hey, girls just wanna' have FUN! Supply-side equations, eh?
Wonderful.
Congratulations! This ought to rock little Astrid to sleep! P.S. There's nothing wrong with "Hey Paula". It was a favorite of mine listening to KWK in St. Louis on my 6 transistor ...... under the covers after bedtime.
Sean - this looks like a tremendous mix for little Astrid (and what a tremendous name!). When the time comes, perhaps she'll go to the prom with my 3 week old son, Alexander Thompson Geary, for whom an introductory mix is currently being prepared...I hope we all have a lifetime of health, happiness and great music!!! A million blessings on your family!
