Comment:

Despite possible appearances, this is neither a narrative nor a theme mix, just a bit of fun. Thanks to valis for introducing me to the music of Shuggie Otis, and to Media Vixen: Radio Sally for her recommendation of Sharon Jones.

I dig this exciting mix - may I be so precocious as to recommend a rendition of "Shanghai Rooster" by the Dezurik/Cackle Sisters (the group went by two names - possibly the main reason why their unique music is not widespread today) as well?

Just saw Sharon in Brooklyn on Friday night. Recommend her to all. Tons of sweaty, drunk fun. This mix has a definitively rockin' feel!

I was lucky enough to receive this as an unexpected bonus in a trade, and I gotta say it's one rockin' mix.The Dixiebelles' opener kicks off a great mix. Kirstin Hersh's take on Three Nights Drunk is just lovely. You fit in just fine in my world!
