Comment:
Despite possible appearances, this is neither a narrative nor a theme mix, just a bit of fun. Thanks to valis for introducing me to the music of Shuggie Otis, and to Media Vixen: Radio Sally for her recommendation of Sharon Jones.Feedback:
I dig this exciting mix - may I be so precocious as to recommend a rendition of "Shanghai Rooster" by the Dezurik/Cackle Sisters (the group went by two names - possibly the main reason why their unique music is not widespread today) as well?
Just saw Sharon in Brooklyn on Friday night. Recommend her to all. Tons of sweaty, drunk fun. This mix has a definitively rockin' feel!
exciting is the word, esp like the passage 8-12
Looks like my kind of mix. Loads of nice stuff on this.
Rockin' lookin mix!
Looks good. I'd love to hear it!
Looks like lotsa fun on shore!
This is great. Love that Willie through Velvet Underground stretch especially.
Very cool. Really liking the Tom Waits, Jim White, James Blood Ulmer & Willie.
Lovely. I sooo love "Shore Leave" and that VU demo...
I can only agree with what was already said...
Two Cliff C's on one disc, gotta be a first, says another Cliff C! Love this from start to finish.
Nice one Misfit! That's a great Shuggie pick.(The track which follows is a great segue.)
Does this rock? Yes. Do I wish I was as cool as you? Yes.
Really nice stuff, Mr Misfit! I love the Tom Waits stuff especially.
Bessie Banks?! That is pleasantly surprising.
Quite wonderful. Lots of inspired choices here. This does look fun.
I was lucky enough to receive this as an unexpected bonus in a trade, and I gotta say it's one rockin' mix.The Dixiebelles' opener kicks off a great mix. Kirstin Hersh's take on Three Nights Drunk is just lovely. You fit in just fine in my world!
