Comment:
I am a huge West Wing fanatic, and I have a distinct memory of the original airing of Two Cathedrals, the perfection of the rising swell of "Brothers in Arms" and realizing that not only did I know the song, but I owned it and had barely ever listened to the CD. So West Wing launched me into Dire Straits and the Eagles (I had been pretty apathetic towards each up until then). Last year when I was abroad I bonded with some friends over the West Wing, and I made this mix for them as a going away present.Feedback:
I too love West Wing and I notice on yr cool mis that you missed a couple, Jeff Buckley's "Halelujah" and Massive Attack's "Angel" to name two.
Jeff Buckly is on there (track 8), Massive Attack had to go for time limits, since it did have to go on a CD, although on the original version I chose "Angel" over "New York Minute", on second inspection I though that "New York Minute" was a better choice (since there's an entire episode named after the song).
Nice job. If you do another version add some of the great banter or lines from the show - it is such great writing and has such wonderful commentary on politics, religion, religion & politics, and life in general, that some of them would be fun to have on a mix.
Nice idea. Pairing one with two doesn't work in my head as opener tracks (I'd want something with more rhythm after the WW theme to move the mix along a bit), but looks good apart from that.
This looks good. It caught my eye because I've been catching up on WW recently. (watching the series from the from beginning on dvd. Weekends at my house have turned into WW marathons) I think some of the music that was originally aired didn't make it to disc because of licensing fees.
