Comment:

the inspiration for this mix came from two places: 1) reading a section of Nick Hornby's "Songbook" about Paul Westerberg's "Born For Me", and 2) thinking of songs that have, at some point or another, either flat out made me cry or made me on that verge of crying. I won't go into why these particular songs make me cry (for both good reasons and not-so-good reasons), but I found some catharsis in this. I only hope John W. enjoys it. title comes from "3 Speed". <3.

The best Eels song. Very effective for deep moods and sadness. Also love that Wainwright track, and of course Big Star, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Jeff Buckley are always appropriate for themes like this. Nice ensemble overall. Definitely some tearjerkers in there

Wow, I love this mix. I really like that section of the book (although it still irritates me that he spent most of it talking about solos, Led Zeppelin, etc. and only four paragraphs or so about the actual song) -- and I've been meaning to make a mix like this sometime soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
