Comment:

I was making a tape called "A Young Persons Guide To The CASETTA Music Library." My scrapped attempts led me to this revision that is transformed into a series to better illustrate my obsessions.

I saw the Mary Janes and the Vulgar Boatmen play this Saturday (1/27/01) in Chicago at Schuba's. After that show I'm convinced those two bands are the best expression of Americana around: think Gram Parsons, Buddy Holly, and the Velvet Underground all rolled into one. Talk about Cosmic American Music.

This looks like the start of an awesome series. Maybe in the end, the Smithsonian Institute should buy you out. Run out of room for Freakwater?

1)I will always run out of room in all volumes of the mixes.2) I will always say, "Damn, I forgot to include...." 3) I will feel the need to go obtain more music after completing a mix. These are at least 3 things I say and do after every mix I do.

Any opinions on the "Return of the Grevious Angel" tribute that came out?

niiice. and it's perhaps to your credit that a couple Canucks were included but still did not compromise the intended theme.

This is also truly great, Casetta. Don't know for the life of me why I didn't comment on this one, either...
