Okay, I'm missing Mazzy Star and "Some Girls" perhaps, but I tried to put together some Dylanesque phrasing with songs that I could still chill with a Stag out by the compost pile (see previous Garden tapes). Tracks 4-6 are the greatest "imitation as the highest form of flattery" for Mr. Dylan, but they do border on insult (all in good fun, Bob). Missing some Pete Townsend too (love his quote "asking how I was influenced by Bob Dylan is like asking how I was affected by being born".) New York Dolls could have made the cut too, ni modo. At least I got the Argentine Dylan (track 18). And that intro to Rolling Stone just blows me away, Garth Hudson is a major deity on keyboards.
