Comment:

Part 1 of a 2-volume set for Sleater-Kinney, I guess partly in celebration of their new record. Also just because lately I've rediscovered how amazing they are due to listening to them in the car. I know they've already rightfully received their day in the sun--the critical applause and the zillions of shows and diehard fans and whatnot--but yeah, I think it deserves to be said yet again: they are one hell of a band, and have made some incredible records. Frankly to me they've got that "it wouldn't matter a whit if they never recorded again; their body of work as it stands now is more than enough to blow anyone away as a lasting contribution" status in my brain. Also, my crush on Carrie hasn't lapsed yet. Hurrah!

Man, this is what I needed. I want to listen to some S/K, but I wasn't sure what songs to get. I have "I wanna be your Joey Ramone" and I like it. Thanks for posting this.

No problem! I love SK. I'd say my all time favorite songs are "Dance Song '97," "Get Up," "Start Together," "Turn It On," and "Buy Her Candy." (Hm, I just realized the main theme in almost all of those songs is love/warm feeling for someone. Ha!) But they have tons of amazing songs. Check out Heavens To Betsey, Excuse 17, Autoclave, The Butchies, and Team Dresch if you like SK too and are interested in other similar/affiliated bands. Woo!

This looks excellent -- a really nice single artist two parter! :)
