Comment:

31) A Beard of Stars 32) Dragon's Ear 33) Dove 34) Elemental Child. So I finally picked up all of the pre-T. Rex Bolan reissues and this is the result. For all of the bad rap that they get, I've got to say that Tyrannosaurus Rex was pretty great in its own right, despite the hippy-dippy sound and even-more-absurd-than-later-period Bolan lyrics. Some of these tracks--particularly "Debora," "Elemental Child," "Woodland Bop," "Pewter Suitor," "King of the Rumbling Spires," "Cat Black (the wizard's hat)," "The Seal of Seasons," "Chariots of Silk," "By the Light of the Magical Moon" and "Once Upon the Seas of Abyssinia"--hold their own with most of T. Rex's venerable early-'70s output. Note: Obviously, I'm going to update my T. Rex mix (posted here as "The universe reclining in your hair") to eliminate "Debora" and to add either "Solid Gold Easy Action" or "Sunken Rags"...

Quite a collection. I wonder if Gloria Jones does vocals on any of these. Nice work.

This is great. I especially like Debora, One Inch Rock, King of the Rumbling Spires and By the Light of the Magical Moon. Awesome and unique.

Always been I've always been a fan but I've only purchased "Electric Warrior". I need to get more of there stuff as well as Marc Bolan's solo stuff. Thanks for the reminder!

Cool. I don't think I know any of this. Please reserve a copy for our 2007 trade.

I have very little of this era - wot I've heard I like though I'm not crazy about all that Tolkien imagery - thank God he moved on - but nice to see a compilation of it!

Nifty. I'm much more partial to the post-Tyrannosaurus period (and I'm working on acquiring those 2-cd Edsel reissues, but they're so damn expensive...), but I have to confess I have only heard a few of these.
