The goodness growing inside
Comment:
Thanks to lo-fi for much of this material. 80 minutes from a fine band that is simultaneously underrated (by the population at large, who know only "The Boys Are Back in Town" or, if they're lucky, "Jailbreak")/misunderstood and overrated (by the UK rock press and in some subsets of rock snobs who most likely look at these guys as a beacon of hope in a lagging pre-punk rock scene). I confess that I do not own/did not have access to Black Rose, so none of those songs are here.Feedback:
Another good one.
I've always thought they were ridiculously cheezy, so I stayed away from there discography much like I did with Kiss and RATT. But I'll check them out now.
This stuff passed me by... or I passed it by. Except of course for the Jailbreak album. But some 30 years later it might be worth a listen.
Definitely worth more than just the hits. Still revered in Ireland, I was surprised to see.
Yes, I'm on board with this.
Great picks Rob. Every one's a fave, but no Cowboy Song? Too classic rock for you?
nice mix, Rob. I liked them a lot when I was younger, but find these days, unfortunately, 15 minutes of them and I want to hear something else.
I agree with Lo-Fi about the Cowboy Song but very nice picks otherwise!
cool mix. Thin Lizzy is great.
Important because Lynott is black & Irish - in fact I cannot think of too many bands led by a Black Irishman - considered to have recorded the greatest Live Album ever - praps not but it was certainly the greatest album they ever recorded! And yup The Cowboy Song is a classic!
Interesting mix! Only know about half of these songs, alas. Great band. "Dancing in the moonlight" may be my favorite Thin Lizzy song; I've got it on a mix I'm working on.
