Comment:

Baby Jesus brought my daughter that great Bill Cosby CD for Christmas, but she hadn't listened to it till I put the best bits on here, alternated with mostly silly songs. I put Bob doing Ernest T. Bass on track 8 as a tribute to Howard Morris. Track 5 & 6 are natural pairs. Tracks 16 & 23 are great Prine songs for Daddy's to put on mixes for their daughters. and end with "that big dumb blonde".

What a blast from the past!! Those old Cosby albums were great! I idled away many an hour of my youth with Cosby, Smothers Brothers, and Jonathan Winters albums.

Looks good. Yeah, Prine's got some great goofy parental love songs. Sweet. (But why didn't you put "Boots Of Spanish Leather" after "Spanish Pipedream"?)

Don't forget Bob Newhart's buttoned-down mind. That was the greatest selling comedy album till Bill came along.
Did you know Bill, Dylan and Coltrane were all performing within blocks of each other in the Village in the early 60s?
And on the other comment, I don't know how Boots of Spanish Leather would fit after Spanish Pipedream, I was aiming for silly songs, not love songs. I don't see the connection beyond the title. I always figured Prine was smoking Spanish hash when he wrote the song, since its more about getting out of the city than anything to do with Spain. Dylan's had more real connection to Suze in Europe.
