Comment:

About a month or so ago I gave my girlfriend a Violent Femmes album and ended up having her not talking to me after hearing "Add It Up" (which I don't get, since it's one of my favorite tunes). She decided to go on a musical fast and listen to only Christian rock for entire month as a way to "purify" herself of the filthy track. So once she emerged from her tasteless hiatus I gave her a mix I had started working on right after she told me about her sonic ablution.
It was originally over 20 tracks long, but it went through a few dozen revisions in those 4 weeks. Despite all my honing and obessing over perfecting it she was enamoured by the gesture but not the music.

Some nice stuff on hear, but I feel like a Sylvia cartoon, with the goddess who separates incompatible couples at the bar- step away from the girl; do you seriously think that someone who went on a musical fast would go for this?

This is a fantastic mix, although I must admit no borders may have a point...
