The third of my 'the academic year in music' mixes (see also 'Rancho Notorious Remix' and 'The Flowers In The Garden, The Wine'). Each track recalls a clear and distinct personal memory/collection of memories, and the tracks are ordered to the chronology of those memories. I'll admit that this concept now seems to me to be rather silly and to take short-term nostalgia to extremes, but then again I may not think that in ten years' time. Besides, it does offer certain perverse pleasures - in no other circumstances would I compile a mix on which Eminem picks up the baton from Nick Cave, or The Magnetic Fields follow on from Cypress Hill.
