Comment:

Companion tape to "The Long Cut/You Can't Fool Old Friends" Both made
March 25, 2005. The Steve Earle song is a live Rolling Stones cover.
The Patti Griffin song is also live. The Hunter/Jones collaboration is
a Roxy Music cover. "Gouge Away" following a song by Elliott Smith is
one of the most inappropriate segways I've ever committed to tape. I
imagine Badfinger being the kind of band that kids should get the
greatest hits of upon entrance to college and feel the whole year
soundtracked by it, affected by and connected with each song. "Big
Sur" should have been put before "So Says I" just so there would have
been three place name songs in a row. I used to really hate The Pixies, but
"Gouge Away" and "This Monkey's Gone To Heaven" are my two favorite
songs by them.
