Cuter than Baby Jesus!
Comment:
Warning - dorky mix approaching. Songs for little Astrid Lally, who recently passed her 10 week birthday. These are tunes I play for her on the gee-tar. She seems to like 'em, though sadly she doesn't seem to be into "Surfin' Bird" or "Telstar" yet - hmmmmm, maybe she's not my kid! Any of you parents out there have fave songs that you sing for your child? (And don't tell me about any goddamned Wiggles tunes!) The title is courtesy of her t-shirt (if you can't read it) -- we raise 'em blasphemous in our house. Also, I love "Don Gato" but could only find this somewhat scary version. And yes, "Froggy" was the lead-off track on my last mix - hey, the song is THAT good. There are a few other songs that I could include, but you get the idea..... Rock on, mamas and papas!Feedback:
Sean, you KNOW i love this! Cuter than Jesus? You betcha! And a great mix, too!
What's a gee-tar?
Nice mix, cute baby and a quality garment!
you sing songs about shooting dogs to your tiny baby?
COOL!
COOL!
Yeah, you gotta get 'em early - imprinting!! My oldest is starting to drift. The younger still lets me sing him to sleep (one of my favorite songs: New Speedway Boogie)
Nice 'n chubby-cheeked. ;)
When my kids were small I use to sing "Only fools rush in " for them when they were suppose to sleep, and Summertime, I see you really use that track
Cute indeed! Both the mix and the youngin'. Surprised that Little Marcy didn't make the cut, but the Shaggs and Pete Seeger are nice picks. Some of the first music I was ever exposed to was the latter's "Songs To Grow On".
Love the mix & love that T Shirt.
BTW from personal experience & talking to friends I've never yet met a tot who didn't respond positively to reggae.

Beautiful!
very, very nice!
Great mix, Sean, and yes, she definitely is cuter!
Perfect! I used to sing my little ones Beatles song-"Close your eyes and I'll kiss you, tomorrow I'll miss you...."
Yes, very nice mix, Sean and a great pic. As infants both my kids liked Barbara Ann... ba ba ba, bababra ann you got me rockin' and a rollin', rockin' and a reelin' barbara ann ba ba, bababra ann.
FANTASTIC and very cute--both the mix and the tyke, whom I need to meet soon... Toss this in my pile, too, as I'm a sucker for sentimental mixes that are well-done. :-)
Aww, this is really sweet. I'd play that GBV track too if I had a kid even if does have a curse word in it!
Wow, both the mix and the baby are K-YOOT!!! I've been listening to a lot of kid's songs lately, check out the version of Don Gato on the Alt-Country kid's album "The Bottle Let Me Down". Actually, I really like the whole CD, check it out!
Never heard one single report that Baby Jesus had apple cheeks! Glad to see the baby and the mix!
Great and you put in my favorite Marley song :-)
Great mix, Sean. You have to tell me where you got that onesie!
Aw, bless. She's lovely and this mix is equally so - like hemizen I think that, if I had kids, I'd sing them Beatles songs. I'm actually quite looking forward to having sprogs so that I can give them a musical education. I love that you've put that Kinks track on there.
Awesome mix. I wonder if they make that shirt in my size.
I'm listening to this mix right now, and it's magnificent!!! What a lucky baby you are Astrid!
