Comment:
Chapters 9-16. Again some bands are missing due to the inevitable holes in my collection. I would like to apologise to U.S. Mixers re: Chapter 13 which is titled Freak Scene and details The Residents, Tuxedomoon, Factrix, Chrome, The Sleepers & Flipper. My collection contains none of these artists and apart from The Residents & Tuxedomoon, I did not know of their existence until I began this book. The B52's and other US Bands which I do have, appear later on in the book
I would also like to add that for my Antipodean Cousins (and yes I do have Australian blood) there is little in this book to satisfy you, however, there is a marvellous book entitled Stranded by Clinton Walker which deals with Australian Independent Music 1977-91 and I'm tempted to give it a try!
Enjoy
CHAPTER 9 Living For The Future (1,2)
CHAPTER 10 Just Step Sideways (3-6)
CHAPTER 11 Messthetics (7-11) (Side 2: 1,2)
CHAPTER 12 Industrial Devolution (3-4)
CHAPTER 14 Careering (5)
CHAPTER 15 Ghost Dance (6-10)
CHAPTER 16 Sex Gang Children (11-12)
Feedback:
Beauteous and scholarly!
great shit
Yet another winner, Dom. Excellent series you have going here!
Yeah, what Sally says!
Good choice of Dexys track for this - perhaps the finest example of Celtic Punk-soul ever recorded!
Superb.
Another fantastically great installment for a great book.
Very nice series. But I think you've got to investigate The Residents; knowing your musical history, you would be fascinated (at least) with Third Reich 'n' Roll. Then maybe Eskimo....
Yes, wonderful series. More, please!
Discover the Residents!
Good to see the Passage among some excellent choices.Find their first two singles on Object records,if you don't have them already,I guarantee you'll love them.

A couple of great mixes,Dom. Any thoughts on My Ripping Time mix which had a similar inspiration?
another great volume.
More great picks. I really need to get a hold of that book.
This is very well done.
Another volume that can't be beat. The S.F. scene sure had some wild mutant bands that you should definitely check out. Try to find a copy of Live at the Deaf Club for a starter.
Another good one, Dom.
Very awesome, once again. Cool series.
