In all honesty, I wouldn't call myself a jazz fan per se, there are too many areas where my ignorance is little short of total. It's more a case that a lot of my favourite artists (eg Bley, Art Ensemble, Ra) happen to fall into that category. This is another exercise in free association. I started out with Ra & just ran with it. If the inclusion of the Mann track seems a bit incongruous it's there for Sonny Sharrock's splendid display of wanton vandalism 3/4 of the way through.

This looks a lot like what jazz means to me, as well... at least lately. And that Sonny Sharrock solo on the Herbie Mann track is to die for.
