Comment:

OK, I haven't the foggiest what is wrong with me, but I love this tape beyond imagination... it's my perfect music for happy sunny summer days. And yes, I know some of the songs are just cheesy and predictable, but they all bring back fantastic memories of summers past, so that makes it all OK to me. Each song has its own memory. Barrett's Privateers reminds me of drinking in Halifax and roadtripping through the Maritimes with Amy. American Music was one of the quintessential sing-along songs for skipping class and cruising the city with the girls on one of those perfect June days back in high school. the list of memories this tape stirs up goes on and on. I'll be the first to say that it's pretty messed up (Cat Stevens and Arlo Guthrie alongside the Ramones and the Clash?) but it works wonders for my spirits. It's fun and silly and sunshiny and makes me happy, and I guess that's all that matters. Sometimes a little bit o'cheese is good for the soul.
