Lately I've been making these lengthy, almost unweildy mixes, trying to express themes and ideas--very serious business. I made this mix to combat all of that conceptual baggage, to bring back the primacy of music over message. I wanted it to just sound good, and different, and fresh. It should be noted that tracks 1 & 3 are covers, recored for the Beliver's latest mix cd, available with their second annual music issue.

Great mix...just out of curiousity, is the name of the mix connected to the short story by the same name?

thanks! & it is, albeit tangentially-- my friend had just given the story to me to read, and i loved the title and it seemed to fit what i was going for with the mix, so i used it.
