Comment:

This disc is the official one year mark in my series of monthly sounds, so I had to make it awesome. But you know this disc made me want to tear out my hair, in a good way. I had heard such good music this month, that it was almost un-freaking-possible to get it down to this. I fought with myself over whether or not to include new songs by my favorite bands, simply because they're new, or to include songs I knew more at the moment. But I ultimately decided that if these bands impressed me once before (Disturbed - Down With the Sickness) (Trapt - " ") (Switchfoot - Beautiful Letdown) (Death Cab For Cutie - Translanticism), that they deserve to be added. Of course this meant I had to leave out some absolutely wonderful songs that I really wanted on here. But, I got what I could, and some of them will probably come around on next months. Okay? Have fun with this one, every song I definitely give a stamp of approval to.

That is more or less exactly how I make my mixes, too, so I totally sympathize with your need to edit. While I don't necessarily love all the bands on here (I'm not big on the hard rock stuff), I like that your mixes are a pastiche of your monthly musical tastes, and am particularly glad that you've been enjoying "Speak Slow", "Maureen", Lisa Loeb, and Joshua Radin all throughout July. Keep these up, and good luck on whatever your August mix ends up looking like :)
