I'm surprised I haven't seen this theme used before on this site (it seems like everything else is!). It's good. I like your 1-4 stretch in particular.
Hearing songs you like in commercials can be cool or troubling or both. I think a lot depends on the product being shilled and the way they shill it. Two of my favorite pairings were Moby's "Porcelain" with (DeBeer's?) jewelry and Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" for Jaguar.
