Looooong songs... that's really the thing here. i've got a few of these, but this one i really love the flow of, despite the fact that the flow consistently comes in eight-minute-plus chunks. (i assure you it's impossible to fit one more song even close to that length on here.) it's all about the idea of Bohemia: the central thematic song is the Rent Act One Finale, aka "La Vie Boheme", which is really the last three tracks from the Rent Original Broadway Soundtrack combined into one, and is basically about preserving Bohemia no matter what the cost; it then immediately leads into "It Was A Pleasure Then", an absolutely terrifying look back into what seem to be days of hedonism, from a place where you just *know* the singer can never go back. one thing i'm proud of here is the abundance of women: tracks 1, 2, 4 and 5 are all female singer-songwriter cuts; see my "White As The Stars, Vol. 2" mix for further comment.Feedback:
