Comment:

Look, Ma, it's a George Harrison mix! okay, so this isn't even close to representing a comprehensive George Harrison mix (where's "Here Comes The Sun"? "My Sweet Lord"?? i hear you shouting -- well, the answer is that i simply don't have them) but then again, that peculiar facet of the Beatles comes up again: you can't really do justice to them if you consciously eliminate any tracks; *all* their albums play like greatest-hits albums. so i simply took all the George Harrison songs i had that would still fit on one CD and... oh, the sequencing, i am proud of the sequencing. (yes, i have only Disc 2 of All Things Must Pass, and it was obviously cut more than any other source disc.) the flow is album-worthy, i'd like to think, and boy does George deserve an album all to his own brilliant early work; the only post-1970 tracks are the first two (HEADING FOR THE LIGHT = the best George song ever!! why does no one realize this???) and Traveling Wilburys hit single "Handle With Care", positioned after "While My Guitar" clears the air and setting up the ending suite: Handle me with care, but wait a minute, aren't we all too focused on "me" and "mine" anyway?... but it's all right, all things must pass... including these very words. (Strange song similarities i noticed while compiling this: "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Art Of Dying", which in the original, horrifically non-volume-equalized version were actually switched; "Awaiting On You All" and "Heading For The Light".)
